About This Project
The Bryan-College Station architects at The Arkitex Studio were brought on to the Little York Lane project to enhance its aesthetic appeal with a French flavor. The owners desired a home surrounded by the vineyard at their rural Washington County home site, and were avid fans of French country architecture. The architectural design included detailed stonework, out-swinging casement windows, true working shutters, small bedroom balconies, a turret element and a car court. Since the couple worked from home, The Arkitex Studio incorporated a full office into the plans. The original design included a full basement for winemaking; this was deleted in the final design.
