About This Project

The Arkitex Studio, were brought on to renovate the aging Manor East Mall, originally built in 1965. The large project team included the City of Bryan and the local utility companies. Our task was to turn an enclosed mall into a facility with no interior common areas. Approximately two-thirds of the existing buildings were renovated. We were later retained for the architectural design of three pad site buildings, and a community pavilion for the project’s owners, bringing the total current lease area up to 360,000 square feet.

The Arkitex Studio takes great pride in the revitalization and continued growth of this popular venue, now named the Tejas Center. 2006 marked the completion of Carter’s Burger, Kolache Rolf’s, Chef Cao’s, Las Molcajetes, Hastings, Subway, and Libations Liquor. The most recent additions include First Victoria Bank and Starbucks in a stand-alone building. Bryan-College Station based The Arkitex Studio also designed the tenant spaces for Kool Smiles dental office and an eye center.
