Faith-Based Project
In 2019, First Baptist Bryan Church enlisted Arkitex Studio to assist with expanding their facilities, including the children and adult group areas, and to add a chapel. However, the project was put on hold due to the pandemic. In June 2021, the church decided to resume the project with new additions to accommodate their college ministries.
After exploring options with Arkitex Studio, First Baptist Bryan’s expansion now includes a college assembly area for 340 people and an adjacent coffee house for casual gatherings. The adult group spaces feature multipurpose rooms, classrooms, and gathering areas. Additional children’s spaces include preschool classrooms and a play area on the first floor, and elementary classrooms and children’s church on the second floor.
Arkitex Studio collaborated closely with the facility representatives and the church’s Building Committee to select a Construction Manager at Risk. In hiring the CMAR, the team hoped to combat the ongoing supply chain challenges and rising costs of construction. The construction of the expansion was completed in the fall of 2023. The Church, experiencing on-going growth, completed a renovation of the Fellowship Hall and Worship Center with Arkitex Studio, and has plans for additional projects in the future.
